Winter Magic FestivalTwo weeks of winter activities to bring together residents and visitors alike to revel in our winter wonderland. Activities include live entertainment and events, workshops for arts & crafts, outdoor activities like snowshoeing, skating, and even more, concluding with the stunningly spectacular Lantern Festival.
Hinton Growler Fat Bike RacePart of the Winter Magic Festival, the Hinton Growler is a timed fat bike race where competitors try and complete as many laps as they can within the time limit.

Yellowhead Regional Arts FestivalThe Yellowhead Regional Arts Festival (YRAF) is a Festival that has been celebrating the Arts in the Yellowhead Region since 1986 and includes a wide range of categories and performances including band, vocals, piano, visual arts, film and even Lego.

Indigenous People’s DayCelebrated during the summer solstice and put on by the Hinton Friendship Centre, this family fun event features Indigenous dancers and drummers, local musicians, bannock making contests, activities for kids and a BBQ.

Föhn Festival & Canada DayThe Föhn Festival is Hinton’s celebration of our region’s historical significance, and diversity of cultures that make up our community. Canada Day celebrations include a parade, pancake breakfast, Canada Day cake, and fireworks the evening before (on June 30th).
Wild Mountain Music FestivalThe Wild Mountain Music Festival is a three day event that brings music, art and culture to a beautiful festival site just outside Hinton. Food, drinks, camping and an unforgettable experience is also guaranteed in this culture music mix.
Mary Reimer Memorial RodeoHinton’s annual rodeo with a full weekend of performances and events including a Cowboy dinner and dance.
Canada Parks DayParks Day is celebrated nation-wide on the third Saturday every July. Participating parks across Alberta host fun activities for the whole family and it’s a great opportunity to head out to William A. Switzer park and reconnect with nature.

Run in the RockiesHinton’s premier trail race featuring a Half Marathon, 10km, 5km and kids run on scenic single and double-track trail right in town.
Terry Fox RunThe Terry Fox Run is a supporter of The Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research. While this fun run requires no entry fee, we strongly encourage donations for this great cause. The event is dog and stroller friendly, and is followed by refreshments and snacks for everyone.

Snowflake ParadeThis family fun event is a great way to kick off the holiday season. The event brings together spectacular floats, fun, music, and dancing from more than 30 different community groups and businesses. A can’t miss event for people of all ages!
